MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's women's wrestling team broke in the New Year with six dual meets in a 20-hour span, highlighted by a 25-13 victory over Eureka at Saturday's Fred Johnson Duals in Rock Island, Ill.
The Rams opened the busy stretch Friday night with a home double dual against 20th-ranked Simpson, falling by scores of 49-0 and 27-15.

Ciara Gomez-Bryant recorded a 12-0 first-period technical fall in the second dual against Simpson. The Rams picked up forfeit wins from
Milar Little at 110 and
Averi Burke at 145. Cornell's
Cheyenne Mulford dropped a tight 5-4 decision at 117.
In Saturday's triumph over Eureka, Cornell 180-pounder
Maddie Pulis earned a pin in 2:23 and 145-pounder
Olivia Cotton rolled to a 10-0 technical fall in 1:49. Mulford,
Adison Musser at 160 and
Emily Grassham at 207 all won by forfeit.
Musser notched her first collegiate pin against Quincy, decking Alexa Valdez in 1:22 for Cornell's lone five points of the dual.
Little tallied a 14-4 technical fall in 3:18 against Augustana.
Coming up – The Rams (2-13) return to their home mats Jan. 18 for the Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational in the arena of the Small Athletic and Wellness Center. Action gets underway at 9 a.m.
