MOUNT VERNON – In its final tune-up before two big Midwest Conference matches, Cornell's men's soccer team took down visiting North Central, 5-2, Thursday.
Cornell (6-8-1 overall, 3-2-1 MWC) found the net first, when
Fox Wight fired a shot that ricocheted off North Central's goalie at the 16:44 mark in the first half. Wight's goal was assisted by
Justice Toledo.
North Central (3-12-1) tied the game at the 29:31 mark in the first half on a goal by Santiago Grams.
Following North Central's score, sophomore
Justice Toledo took control of the game scoring on back-to-back corner kick header goals to put Cornell up 3-1. Toledo's first goal was assisted by
Kyriacos Photiou and the second by
Mason Parsley.
The Rams continued their scoring surge when Wight struck again midway through the second half. Sophomore
Luca Carns-Hilliker followed up with his first career goal with five minutes to go in the game. Freshman
Gordey Gambrall picked up his first career assist.
Cornell outshot North Central 27-9, with 14 shots on goal. Toledo and Wight each had three shots on goal and
Jake Elmore had two shots on goal.

Carter Lampe and Carns-Hilliker each had one shot on goal for the Rams.
Goalkeeper
Jack Massey picked up two saves in 78 minutes of play for the Rams.
Kian Farrell played the last 12 minutes in goal.
