WAVERLY – Midwest Conference women's cross country champion
Lidia Dahlman extended her stellar sophomore season an extra week with a top-10 performance at Saturday's Midwest Region Championships.
Dahlman placed ninth in the 219-woman field and safely secured a berth to the NCAA Division III Championships Nov. 22 in Spartanburg, S.C. She is Cornell's first female NCAA qualifier since 2017 (MariKate Murphy).
The official list of NCAA qualifiers will be announced Sunday.
Senior teammate
Ava Claussen-Tubbs joined Dahlman on the all-region podium Saturday in guiding coach
Jerry Frawley's Rams to a strong eighth-place team showing with 248 points. That marks Cornell's best regional finish since 2016.
Dahlman covered the 6K layout at Max Championship Cross Country Course in 22:04. She shaved 77 seconds and improved 37 spots from last year's regional race.
Claussen-Tubbs took 34th in her regional debut, crossing the line in 23:16. She finished four seconds ahead of the all-region top-35 cutoff.
Senior
Alyza Koppes ran 23:51 for 56th place, capping a fine collegiate cross country career. Not far behind was sophomore
Carley Seeley in 59th (23:53). Senior
Mackenzie Engbert brought in Cornell's fifth scorer, taking 92nd in 24:24.
Milar Little (24:36) and
Zoe Peesel (25:05) finished 101st and 122nd, respectively.
The Rams picked up one point in the
2025-26 Bremner Cup All-Sport Series with their head-to-head win over rival Coe in dual scoring.
Wash U. was crowned regional team champion with 42 points and also fielded the overall individual medalist in Lucinda Laughlin.
