MOUNT VERNON – Coach
Jerry Frawley's men's and women's cross country teams and four student-athletes have been recognized for academic excellence by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Cornell had three women's competitors honored as
USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes in senior
Ava Claussen-Tubbs (marketing and applied statistics),
Alyza Koppes (German studies and kinesiology) and sophomore
Lidia Dahlman (studio art).
Senior
Isaac vanWestrienen represented Cornell's men's team as a
USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.30 grade point average and finished in the top 25 percent at their respective regional championship meet.
Koppes and vanWestrienen earned the distinction for the third consecutive year, while Dahlman picked up her second such award.
Dahlman, the 2025 Midwest Conference individual champion, placed ninth at the Midwest Region Championships and qualified for the NCAA Championships. Claussen-Tubbs also earned all-region status with a 34th-place effort. Koppes finished 56th at regionals.
VanWestrienen claimed all-America honors with a third-place performance at the NCAA Championships. He was crowned Midwest Region champion and won his second consecutive MWC individual title.
Cornell's
men and
women were honored as 2025 USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. The men collected the award for the fourth year in a row, sporting a 3.19 team GPA.
The women earned all-academic accolades for the ninth time in 11 years. They carried a 3.67 GPA.
To be eligible, teams must have attained a 3.10 GPA.
