IOWA CITY – Cornell's women's wrestling team picked up its first dual win of the season Sunday afternoon at the University of Iowa Duals in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Boston Jacobs' Rams defeated Central in the opening meet, 29-19, and then fell 43-0 to top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Iowa.
The Rams (1-1) won four of the six contested bouts against Central, highlighted by pins from freshman
Angelica Benitez (3:00) at 110 pounds and sophomore
Maddie Pulis (:34) at 207.
Senior 160-pounder
Olivia Cotton recorded a 12-0 technical fall in 1:02. Senior
Cheyenne Mulford earned a 10-6 decision at 117.
Rachel Richey (124) and
Averi Burke (138) both won by forfeit.
Cornell forfeited two matches and gave up technical falls at 131 and 180.
The Rams had their work cut out in the second round against the host Hawkeyes. Iowa did not surrender a point while posting two pins and seven technical falls.
On Saturday, the Rams had four individuals compete in the freshman/sophomore division at Simpson's Luther Hill Invitational.
Evie Anderson finished 2-2 at 131, recording a fall and technical fall. At 160,
Maddie Rose went 1-2 with a pin. Richey dropped both of her matches at 124, while
Yuli Torres went 0-2 at 138.
