CEDAR RAPIDS – Cornell scored seven of the first nine points Sunday before rival Coe took control for an 82-62 men's basketball win over the Rams inside Kohawk Arena.
The Rams fell to the undefeated Kohawks (5-0) for the second time in 16 days.
Senior
Nate Jacobson reached double-figures scoring for the second consecutive game, pacing the Rams (0-6) with 11 points in only 16 minutes of action. He also had five rebounds, sharing team-high honors with freshmen
Joseph Hudson,
Jude Weaver and
Luke Hellige.
Weaver came off Cornell's bench to tally 10 points.
Keon Talgo distributed three of the team's 11 assists.
The Kohawks made more free throws (18) than Cornell attempted (17) and owned a 50-38 advantage on the boards. Coe led 42-29 at intermission and held the Rams to 29.7-percent shooting in the second half.
