ORLANDO, Fla. – Cornell's women's tennis team ran their winning streak up to three in a row Sunday afternoon sweeping a doubleheader against Maryville College 6-1, and Curry College 7-0. The Rams have won four straight dating back to the last dual match of the fall season.
Cornell (12-3) secured all three doubles matches against Maryville to kick off the day. No. 1 duo of
Mac Graves &
Tansy Graves (6-3), No. 2 tandem of
Alyssa Flynn &
Jenna Benkufsky (6-4) and No. 3 partners
Isabella Wallin &
Ashley Drake (6-4) all took wins.
In singles
Tansy Graves,
Mac Graves, Benkufsky and Drake rolled to straight set wins to capture the dual. Flynn at No. 3 finished her match out in a third set tiebreak.
Against Curry College, the Rams had little trouble sweeping the Colonels taking all three doubles matches, and winning all six singles matches in straight sets.
Tansy Graves,
Mac Graves, Flynn, Benkufsky and Drake all enjoyed a 4-0 day individually. Wallin finished 3-1 in her matches.
Coming up – The Rams close out the spring break trip in Florida with a pair of matches on Tuesday against Piedmont and Marywood. First serve against Piedmont is set for 8:30am ET.
