ORLANDO, Fla. - Cornell's men's tennis team got their spring break match schedule underway Friday morning, defeating Albion College 5-2 at the USTA National Campus.
The Rams (7-3), won the doubles poing yet again. No. 1 duo of
Trent Devore &
Mills Arnold won their team leading 10th match this season as partners, 6-3. No. 3 pair of
August Krahn &
Drew Campbell followed suit with a swift 6-1 win of their own.
Zachary Ong &
Sam Cumicek needed a tiebreak to finish out their match and the doubles sweep, taking a 7-6(5) advantage at No. 2.
Cornell rode the momentum into singles winning two of the four contested matches. The Britons forfeited Nos. 5 and 6 singles due to illness.
Devore and
Edwin Holyoake at No. 1 and No. 4 respectively, powered through in three sets each to seal the win for the Rams.
Coming up: Cornell returns to the courts on Sunday to face Maryville College and Curry College in a doubleheader. First serve against Maryville is set for 12pm CT.
