LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Cornell's men's tennis team continued Midwest Conference play Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 dual loss to title contender Lake Forest on the road.
Cornell No. 3 doubles pair of
August Krahn and
Drew Campbell provided the lone win for the Rams, with a close 7-6 win. No. 1 pair of
Trent Devore and
Mills Arnold along with No. 2 tandem of
Zachary Ong and
Sam Cumicek both provided a strong push in doubles play, before falling 6-4 and 6-3.
The Foresters won all six singles matches in straight sets. Devore (7-5 6-1), Ong (6-3 6-3) and Cumicek (6-1 7-5) all hung tough in their singles bouts at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6.
Coming up: Cornell closes out the regular season and MWC play next Saturday playing host to Ripon College (9am) and Lawrence University (3pm).
