MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's men's tennis team secured the No. 3 seed in next week's Midwest Conference Tournament, zipping past Ripon College 7-0, and Lawrence University 5-2, Saturday at the Hilltop. The Rams honored

Coach
Trent Schneider's Rams concluded a strong regular season at 16-8 overall and finished third in the MWC at 4-2. The Rams now have had back-to-back seasons of 16 or more dual wins.
Cornell returns to the four-team MWC Tournament for the sixth consecutive season it has been contested. The Rams will face No. 2 seed Lake Forest in a semifinal at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Madison, Wis.
Zachary Ong,
Drew Campbell and
Mills Arnold all finished 4-0 on the day to pace the Rams, who swept all six doubles matches.
August Krahn and
Sam Cumicek also finished 3-0 individually.
Cornell won all six singles matches against the Redhawks in the morning. Five of the matches were won in straight sets by Ong, Campbell, Arnold, Holyoake and Krahn.
Trent Devore toughed out a third set tiebreak win 6-4, 6-7, 10-5 over Ripon's Caleb Sippel.
Against Lawrence, the Rams once again won all three doubles matches to claim the team point. Ong, Campbell and Cumicek were straight set winners in their singles bouts, while Arnold was victorious in a third set tiebreak.
Devore (7-6 7-6) and Holyoake (6-3, 2-6, 10-6) were edged at No. 1 and No. 5.
Coming up: Cornell faces Lake Forest College in the MWC Team Tournament Semi-Finals on Friday, April 25 at 11:30am on the campus of the University of Wisconsin.
