MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's large senior baseball class enjoyed a decisive 10-4 Midwest Conference victory over Knox in the home finale Sunday afternoon at Ash Park.
The Rams (14-21 overall, 6-11 MWC) celebrated a three-game series sweep over the Prairie Fire (14-20 overall, 6-11 MWC) and stretched their overall win streak to four games.
Cornell recognized its 18 senior players following the contest. All of them played except
Vince Tinajero, who pitched seven innings in Saturday's Game 2 victory.

Kale Rose put a fitting cap to his outstanding home career, going 2-for-4 with three runs and five RBIs. Senior outfielder
Vince Zipperer finished a sizzling series with nine hits, including a 3-for-5 effort Sunday.
Senior right-hander
Cai Brevig (3-0) stayed unbeaten on the mound, scattering just three hits over 4.1 scoreless innings. He struck out four.
The Rams used seven relievers in the game, none of whom pitched more than one inning. All four of Knox's runs were unearned.
Rose connected for a two-run double in the second and a two-run single in the third as the Rams built an 8-0 cushion through three innings. Zipperer singled in Cornell's final run in the eighth in his last home at-bat.
Mason Sellers and
Cade Parks collected two hits apiece for Cornell's 14-hit attack.
Sunday marked the 75th win in four years for the senior class.
