MOUNT VERNON – Freshman Macky Larkin scored two goals and handed out two assists in leading the Cornell women's soccer team to a 6-1 victory over North Central (MN) at Cornell Soccer Field on Saturday.
 
Cornell (1-0) scored twice in the first half on goals by Eva Plathe and freshman Mia Belitz scored her first collegiate goal on a Larkin assist.
 
North Central (0-1) played Cornell tough throughout the 90-minute game despite playing with only one substitute player.  Cornell took advantage of the fresh legs in the second half scoring four goals to North Central's lone goal.
 
Scoring for the Rams in the second half were freshman Gracie Abben scoring her first collegiate goal.  Macky Larkin with two goals and Eva Plathe added her second goal of the game. 
 
Sami Hartman, Abben, and Larkin each had assists in the second half.
 
Rams goalkeeper Sabrina Ibanez played all 90 minutes of the game, picking up four saves on North Centrals five shots on goal.
