VERONA, Wis. – Goalkeeper
Sabrina Ibanez kept the Rams close with 15 saves in Wednesday's 2-0 women's soccer setback to Edgewood at Reddan Park.
The host Eagles (2-1) fired 34 total shots in the match, but were only able to break through twice against Cornell's defense.
Edgewood scored in the 39th minute of the opening half and added its second goal just 22 seconds after intermission to provide the final margin.
Ibanez battled all 90 minutes in net for the Rams (1-1). The senior topped the 300-saves mark for her career, now with 308 which ranks No. 3 on Cornell's all-time list.
Mia Belitz and
Eva Plathe accounted for Cornell's two shots in the contest, both on goal.
