MOUNT VERNON – Cornell Men's Soccer returned home Saturday, looking to beat Augustana for the first time. The Rams jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they picked up the 5-2 win at Cornell Soccer Field.
Cornell (2-3) scored four goals in the first half, which proved to be enough for the win. Freshman
Javier Andrade-Martinez netted the first goal at the 4:35 mark of the first half to give the Rams the early lead.
Antonio Russo picked up the assist on the goal.

Kyriacos Photiou scored his first collegiate goal 14 minutes into the game.
Justice Toledo added back to back goals to round out the first half scoring for Cornell. Toledo's second goal was assisted by
Tadhg Thompson.
Augustana (1-2-2) netted a goal at the 31:15 mark of the first half, to make the score 4-1 heading to halftime.
The Rams and Vikings exchanged goals in the second half. Junior
Carter Lampe picked up the unassisted goal for Cornell in the second half. It was Lampe first career goal.
Jack Massey played the first 76:31 of the game, giving up one goal.
Hunter Douglas finished the game for the Rams giving up a goal and adding three saves.
Coming up – The Rams travel to Indianola Friday, to take on Simpson College. Game time is 6 p.m.
