MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's women's soccer team hung within one goal at intermission before rival Coe took control with three second-half scores for a 4-0 Bremner Cup victory Wednesday.
The Rams (2-6) put up 15 total shots in the home match, although couldn't break through against Coe goalkeeper Ashton Proctor who worked all 90 minutes.
Sydney Newberg drew the start at keeper for Cornell, recording three saves with one goal allowed over 27 minutes.
Sabrina Ibanez came on to work the rest of the match and finished with 11 saves.
The Kohawks (2-4-2) scored in the 15th minute on a scramble situation in front of the net and took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Coe added an insurance goal at the 53-minute mark and then broke it open with two more tallies over the next 17 minutes.
First-year
Gracie Lambrecht led Cornell's attack with five shots, followed by
Eva Plathe with four.
Gwen Westervelt provided a spark off the bench with three shots, all on goal.
Coe picked up one point in the
2025-26 Bremner Cup All-Sports Series, which the Kohawks now lead 4-0. The next head-to-head competition is women's tennis at 4 p.m. Sunday in Mount Vernon.
