MOUNT VERNON – Cornell Men's soccer team honored four seniors (
Antonio Russo,
Will Davis,
Ian Schilling and
Lewis Page) prior to the game on Sunday afternoon at Cornell Soccer Field. The Rams (1-2) were all business after the opening kickoff as they defeated Minnesota-Morris (1-3) 6-0, to pick up their first win of the young season.
Junior
Mason Parsley put the Rams on the board early with his first collegiate goal four minutes and 47 seconds into the game.
Jake Elmore assisted on Parsley's goal.
Justice Toledo scored with 12:21 to go in the first half on a penalty kick to put the Rams up 2-0, going into halftime.
Sophomore
Jake Elmore got the Rams going early in the second half netting his first two collegiate goals.
Tadhg Thompson served up the assist on Elmore's first goal.
Sam Burmeister put the ball in the net with 21:30 left in the game on a nifty pass from Parsley and freshman
Gordey Gambrall rounded out the scoring, netting his first collegiate goal on an assist from
Will Davis.
Goalkeeper
Jack Massey played the first 73:57 of the game in the net for the Rams, finishing with six saves.
Hunter Douglas closed out the game for Cornell, picking up one save.
Coming up – The Rams travel to Cedar Rapids on Wednesday to play Coe College, looking to pick up a Bremner Cup point for Cornell. Start time is 7 p.m.
