MOUNT VERNON – Cornell senior safety Joshua Martin has been named to the D3football.com Defensive Team of the Week after leading the Rams to a 34-0 victory over Lawrence in Saturday's home finale.

Martin made history as the first Ram to land on the D3football.com Team of the Week twice in the same season. He was also honored on Oct. 6. This is the 28th season of the D3football.com weekly honor roll.

Martin snatched two more interceptions and netted 73 return yards in helping Cornell post its second shutout win of the season. The 2025 all-conference performer also totaled eight tackles, including five solo stops.

Martin is tied with Texas Lutheran's Malik Johnson for first among all NCAA Division III players with eight interceptions, one shy of the single-season school record. Saturday marked the third time this fall Martin has picked off two passes in a game.

Martin ranks sixth on Cornell's all-time list with 14 interceptions through 35 games. He is already the Rams' career leader with 297 interception return yards.

The Rams (4-5 overall, 3-4 MWC) close the season Saturday with a 1 p.m. road game against 21st-ranked Lake Forest (8-0 overall, 6-0 MWC) in Lake Forest, Ill.
