CEDAR RAPIDS – Cornell's dance and cheerleading teams performed well at Mount Mercy's Mustang Invitational Sunday at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School.
The cheerleading team placed second in the Division III category for small and intermediate coed performances. The routine was choreographed by head coach Gabby McCoy.
The category consisted of a 2 1/2-minute routine with elements of stunting, jumps, tumbling, cheer and dance. This was Cornell's second year competing and first time in the category.

Cornell's dance team earned first-place finishes in the Division III category in pom and jazz. They took runner-up in hip hop.
