MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's women's tennis team took down Division II Truman State University 4-3 on Sunday morning at the Hilltop, securing their 10th straight win this spring season. With the win, the Rams have tied the program record for dual wins in a single season at 20. Cornell has four regular season matches remaining.
The Rams (20-3) dropped the doubles point surrendering all three spots. No. 1 pair of
Michaela Clark and
Mac Graves narrowly fell 7-6, while the No. 2 pair of
Tansy Graves and
Annika Dox, as well as No. 3 duo
Audrey Small and
Jenna Benkufsky both fell 6-4.
In singles play, Cornell battled back once again and grabbed four singles wins.
Mac Graves at No. 2 and
Tansy Graves at No. 3 kicked things off with two quick wins. Clark at No. 1 finished her match out 6-4 in the third set to get the Rams their third point of the match. Dox at No. 6 provided the clinching match earning a third set 6-3 win. Benkufsky narrowly dropped her match in a super tiebreak at No. 5.
Coming up – The Rams travel to Dubuque, IA to face Loras College on Thursday April 9th, at 4pm.
