MOUNT VERNON – Trailing by two midways through the fourth quarter, the Rams score three goals in the last 6:28 of the game to pull off the come from behind 8-7 win over Edgewood (5-10, 4-3 NACC) Wednesday at Van Metre Field at Ash Park. The win keeps the Rams hope of a conference tournament bid alive.
Sophomore
Natalie Hudgins started the comeback with a free position goal at the 6:28 mark. Senior
Brynn Miroslavich tied up the game three minutes later, on her team high 23rd goal of the season. Miroslavich's goal was assisted by
Ava Ferencz.
With 1:06 left on the clock, Ferencz netted a free position shot to seal the victory for the Rams (5-8, 4-3 NACC). Ferencz finished the game with three goals and two assists.
Cassie Clay scored twice and picked up an assist for Cornell.
Evi Reedy added a goal and
Sabrina Ibanez picked up an assist.
The Rams scooped up 31 ground balls to the Eagles 29, Ibanez led the way with seven.
Kailey McFarlin grabbed five lose balls, with Ferencz and Hudgins each grabbing four.
Cornell caused 18 turnovers, with Hudgins leading the way with four caused turnovers. McFarlin finished with three and Ferencz,
Ilsa Jeffery, Ibanez and
Violette Finnegan causing two each.
Hannah Miech played all 60 minutes in the net, to pick up her 32
nd win of her career. Miech finished with six saves.
