DES MOINES – Cornell senior
Ava Claussen-Tubbs placed 11th out of 20 women's competitors in the Unseeded University/College Division 800-meter run Thursday afternoon at the Drake Relays at Jim Duncan Track.
Claussen-Tubbs was the top Division III finisher in the field with a time of 2:13.97. She was .06 seconds shy of her season-best and Midwest Conference-leading mark.
University of Iowa's Caila Lyons was crowned champion in 2:08.92
Coming up – Cornell will compete in three events at the Drake Relays Friday. The men's 4x100 relay goes off at 9:37 a.m. The women's sprint medley relay is scheduled for 6:20 p.m. The men's 4x200 relay is at 8:10 p.m.
