Rams cap off historic season, finish No. 55 in national rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released their final rankings of the season on Wednesday, and the Cornell College women's tennis team rounded out the year at No. 55. The Rams first appeared on the national list on April 1st ranked 57th, and showing in the national rankings for the first time since 2003. Cornell remained in the rankings the rest of the season. 

Coach Trent Schneider's Rams posted a 24-4 record in dual matches on the year, and earned a 3rd place finish in the MWC team standings after the fall season. Cornell narrowly fell to No. 67 at the time Lake Forest 4-3 in the MWC Tournament semi-finals on May 2.

The Rams had a historic season where they broke, and set, the single season dual wins record at 24. Strong wins were obtained over #56 Coe College for the first time since 2004, defeating Augustana IL for the first time since 2011, and toppling Division II Truman State University. 

Michaela Clark was the MWC Newcomer & Player of the Year, and earned All-MWC singles and doubles selections, along with teammates Mac Graves and Tansy Graves. Schneider was voted 2025 MWC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year. 

Clark also wrapped up her season #5 in the NCAA Region VII singles rankings. 

Jenna Benkufsky along with Mac Graves led the Rams in singles wins (23), while Graves and Clark led the team in doubles wins (23). Audrey Small and Benkufsky were crowned #3 doubles champions at the final MWC Individual Championships this past fall. 

Other conference teams included in the final rankings list are; Grinnell (#25), Lake Forest (#47) and joining the league this fall, Luther College (#62).
