ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER
Dillon Bennett, MA, LAT, ATC, FDN

Dillon BennettBennett, a native of Lenox, Iowa, joined Cornell's sports medicine staff in Spring 2026.

Bennett earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Iowa State University in 2020. He received his master's in community health and recreation from the University of Northern Iowa in 2022.

Bennett served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Northern Iowa's football and softball teams for two years in Cedar Falls.

He worked at the Northern Iowa Physical Therapy Clinic and also held head athletic trainer positions for Waterloo East High School and the Iowa Woo, a professional indoor football team. Football and rugby are two of Bennett's most passionate sports.






ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER
Rebekah Sloan, MAT, LAT, ATC

Rebekah SloanSloan, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, joined Cornell’s sports medicine staff in Summer 2026.

Sloan earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in athletic training from Iowa State University in 2026. At Iowa State, she assisted with football, women’s swim and dive, men’s and women’s cross country and track & field and spirit squad.

Sloan assisted with athletic training at Ames High School for 1 1/2 years, working primarily with boys basketball. She was a teacher assistant for basic athletic training for three semesters at Iowa State. Sloan also worked at The Athletic Training Room, based in Ankeny, for three years.   








TEAM ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON:

Dr. Mark C. Mysnyk, M.D.

Dr. Mark Mysnyk, Steindler Orthopedic Clinic PLC, is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the Midwest. Dr. Mysnyk assists in supervising all of Cornell's 19 varsity athletic teams. Dr. Mysnyk was an alternate on the U.S. Olympic wrestling team in 1976 and wrestled for the University of Iowa from 1974 - 1979.
