John-Michael Osley, a 2020 Cornell graduate and three-year starter for the Rams, joined Seth Wing’s coaching staff as a full-time assistant in September 2020.
A native of Centennial, Colo., Osley started 72 games at the middle infield positions over his final three seasons. He posted 83 career hits, 64 runs and a .283 batting average.
Osley enjoyed a breakout junior campaign in which he batted .317 and helped guide the Rams to the 2019 Midwest Conference Tournament championship and the program’s first-ever berth in the NCAA Division III Regional. His 44 runs that season rank third on Cornell’s all-time list. Osley’s 59 hits are eighth-most in a season by a Cornell player.
Osley was a three-time academic all-MWC honoree and earned four varsity baseball letters. He graduated in Spring 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and a minor in anthropology.
Osley helped run team camps and clinics for four years as a student-athlete on the Hilltop. He coached the Lightning Baseball club team in his native state in Summer of 2020. Osley was also coach of the freshman team at Cherokee Trail.
Osley led Cherokee Trail High School to its first 5A state championship – the largest classification in Colorado – in 2016. He was honored as the team’s postseason MVP. Osley was a two-time academic all-state performer as a prep.
