Whitehead, of Kalamazoo, Mich., joined Cornell’s football staff in Summer 2021 as defensive line coach.
Whitehead was a track & field athlete at Lake Superior State University, competing two years in the long jump and triple jump. He received a bachelor’s degree in sports and recreation management from Lake Superior State in 2018 and earned his master’s in sports management from Western Michigan University in 2021.
Prior to his arrival in Mount Vernon, Whitehead was defensive backs coach (2018) and defensive line coach (2019-20) at Kalamazoo College. He coached four all-conference players in three seasons.
Whitehead held assistant coaching roles at Michigan high schools Sault Area (2017), Galesburg-Augusta (2016) and Parchment (2014-15). He graduated from Parchment (Mich.) High School in 2014 and coached track & field there from 2018-19.
