Joe Morgan

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Morgan joined Cornell's football staff in April 2012 and will serve as offensive line coach, the same position he held the previous three seasons at NAIA's McPherson (Kan.) College.

Morgan, a native of Las Vegas, Nev., had a successful stint at McPherson as a player and coach. A two-year starter at right tackle, Morgan earned all-conference honors his senior season in 2007. The following year he served as a student assistant on the football staff while earning a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance.

Morgan was the Bulldogs' offensive line coach from 2009-11, and took over as the team's running game coordinator during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Morgan coached nine all-conference performers and two all-Americans on the offensive line. McPherson finished the 2009 season with a 9-2 record and No. 12 national ranking. The 2010 team went 10-1 and finished sixth in the NAIA poll. The Bulldogs qualified for the playoffs in back-to-back years and were ranked 13th in the 2011 preseason poll.

Prior to arriving at McPherson, Morgan played football two years at the College of the Desert in Palm Springs, Calif. Morgan graduated from Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nev., in 2004.
