Spencer Williams

Williams, a member on University of Iowa’s football team from 2016-18, joined Cornell’s staff in August 2020 as tight ends/running backs coach.

The Cedar Falls native played center for the Hawkeyes before an injury shortened his playing career. As a freshman, Williams was part of Iowa’s unit that earned the 2016 Joe Moore Award, recognizing the most outstanding offensive line in the country.

The Hawkeyes were top-25 nationally-ranked in each of Williams’ three seasons in Iowa City. Williams was part of three bowl game appearances, including wins in the 2017 Pinstripe Bowl and 2018 Outback Bowl.

Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management with a minor in entrepreneurial management from Iowa in December 2019.

Williams served as an intern in Cornell’s athletics department during the 2018-19 academic year.

Williams was a standout lineman at Cedar Falls High School, gaining first team all-state accolades by the Iowa Newspaper Association and Des Moines Register his senior season. He was selected a Blue-Grey All-American and competed in the 2016 Iowa Shrine Game that fielded the top senior players in the state. Williams earned third team all-state honors as a junior.
