Julian Peota

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Peota, a  former all-conference player with the Rams, returns to his alma mater for his first season on Nate Grosse’s coaching staff in 2014.

Peota earned four varsity letters and started more than 90 percent of the matches during his soccer career at Cornell. A two-year team captain, Peota was named Honorable Mention All-Iowa Conference his senior season after leading the Rams in goals scored.

Peota graduated from Cornell in 2012 with a double major in environmental science and geology.

A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Peota spent the 2013-14 school year teaching in Thailand. He taught English to elementary students. Peota also played and coached soccer during his time overseas.

“As a former player, I know what it takes for players to develop, especially in a unique environment like Cornell where the block plan and small residential campus challenge the limits of the student-athletes,” Peota said. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to be back at Cornell, to coach and develop the program for current and future players so they can have the same positive experiences.”
