Box Score MOUNT VERNON – The young Cornell Rams faced a tall task against undefeated Coe, falling 9-0 in men's tennis action Wednesday inside the Small Sport Center Arena.
The Rams moved to 5-4 overall, while the visiting Kohawks improved to 10-0 with their fourth shutout of the season.
Cornell's Drew Arnold (JR/Georgetown, Texas) took his No. 4 singles opponent to a third-set tiebreaker in a 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (7-5) loss. The Kohawks won the other five singles matches in straight sets.
At No. 2 singles, freshman Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf (FR/La Jolla, Calif.) (7-2) fell short for only the second time this season in a 6-2, 7-5 decision against Nathan Meskell.
Cornell's top doubles tandem of Federico Polidori (FR/Miami Beach, Fla.) and Hadler-Strumlauf fell 8-3. The Rams lost by 8-1 scores at No. 2 and 3 doubles.
