Box Score CEDAR RAPIDS – Cornell's men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 dual meet to undefeated Coe Saturday night at Clark Racquet Center.
Sophomore
Federico Polidori earned the one match victory for the Rams at No. 3 singles, 6-0 and 7-5, over Alex Palomar. At the No. 1 singles slot, Cornell's
Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf pushed Jordan Oaks in a 6-4, 7-6 loss.
Coe (3-0) posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 2 and 5 singles.
Chris Penas-Hull lost 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4, while
Orion Mason fell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
Cornell's No. 1 doubles team of
Justin Mendez and Hadler-Strumlauf came up short, 8-3. The Kohawks won 8-0 at No. 2 and 3 doubles.
The Kohawks went ahead 6-5 in the
2021-22 Bremner Cup All-Sport Series. The rivals compete next in softball on March 23 in Cedar Rapids.
The Rams (1-2) are home Sunday for duals against Wisconsin Lutheran at 9 a.m. and Dubuque at 3 p.m.
