CEDAR RAPIDS – Cornell junior
Zach Ingle canned four 3-pointers and netted 18 points in Wednesday's 73-53 men's basketball loss to rival Coe inside Kohawk Arena.
The Kohawks (10-1), who are receiving national votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll, scored 27 points off 18 Cornell turnovers which was largely the difference in the game.
The Rams (2-9) fell behind 35-21 at halftime and couldn't cut into the deficit despite shooting 54.5 percent (12-of-22) in the second half.
Ingle scored in double figures for the 10th time in 11 games this season.
Jaxson Herring provided eight points and a team-best six rebounds.
Dylan Hurley added six points, four rebounds and a pair of steals.
Coe turned the ball over just seven times and recorded six blocked shots. Bennett Sherry led the way with a career-high 30 points and four blocks.
The Rams held Coe's top two scorers – Cael Schmitt and TJ Schnurr – to 16 combined points, 22 below their season average.
