CEDAR RAPIDS – The Cornell women's basketball team played in-state rival Coe at the Kohawk Arena on Wednesday losing 63-41 in the season's second matchup between the Kohawks.
The Rams were impactful on the defensive end against the Kohawks (7-2) holding them to below their scoring average on the year.
This game was the second fewest amount of points the Kohawks have scored all year and the second fewest amount of shots made. The Rams held the Kohawks to 22-52 shooting.
The Rams caused 20 turnovers, collected 12 steals, and secured four blocks as a team. Eight different Rams had at least one steal. The Rams held the top-three scorers of the Kohawks to below their season averages as well.
Senior
Ani'ja Simmons finished with three blocks for her third consecutive game with at least one block. Simmons finished with four points and four rebounds as well.

A'ryn Jackson and
Heidi Jorgensen each tallied eight points.
The difference maker in the game were the three-pointers made by the Kohawks. They made a total of 11 three-pointers which vaulted them over the Rams.
The Rams previously faced Coe earlier this year on Nov. 8 for the Bremner Cup point. The Kohawks came out on top in the game winning 76-51 at the Small Athletic and Wellness Center in Mount Vernon.
