Rams take on tough competition at Luther Open

DECORAH – Cornell's women's wrestling team picked up 12 match wins at Saturday's Luther Open.
 
Freshman Jasmine McCaskel headed Cornell's lineup with a 3-2 effort at 145 pounds, which included one pin and one technical fall. She lost by fall in the second round to eventual champion Annelise Obermark of Simpson.
 
At 124, Cheyenne Mulford recorded two bonus-point wins during her 2-2 day. Ciara Gomez-Bryant split four matches in the 131-pound bracket, posting a pin and a technical fall.
 
Addison Thrash (124), Kyla Andrew (131), Emma Stevenson (160), Shaely Kunz (160) and Danyia Werner (180) earned one victory apiece at their respective weights.
 
Coming up – The Rams wrestle Wartburg in a dual meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Waverly.
