MADISON, Wis. – It was too little too late for Cornell's men's lacrosse team Wednesday night in a 17-6 nonconference loss to Edgewood at Reddan Park.
The Rams (4-4) were hindered by a slow start, which saw the Eagles (3-6) score the first six goals and build a 13-2 lead by halftime. Cornell played even with the home team over the final 30 minutes.
Junior goalie
Thomas Cook collected a season-high 21 saves over 52 minutes of work. He became the second Ram to post 400 saves in a career, now with 413.
First-year
Charley Kobets paced the Rams in scoring with three assists and one goal. He also had six ground balls.
Luke Baldwin netted two goals, while
Gavin Ravalli,
Matt Norwood and
Caden Lynch chipped in one apiece.
Torii Greiskalns led the team with eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Coming up – The Rams travel to play Augustana (1-4) at 4 p.m. Saturday in Rock Island, Ill.
