APPLETON, Wis. – Cornell's men's tennis team secured the No. 3 seed in next week's Midwest Conference Tournament with a pair of decisive road wins Saturday over Ripon, 8-1, and Lawrence, 6-3.

Trent Schneider's Rams concluded a strong regular season at 17-7 overall and finished third in the MWC at 4-2. Cornell tied the 2017 squad for most dual wins in program history.
Cornell returns to the four-team MWC Tournament for the fifth consecutive season it has been contested. The Rams will face No. 2 seed Lake Forest in a semifinal at 10 a.m. Friday in Madison, Wis.
Federico Polidori and
Trent Devore both finished 4-0 on the day to pace the Rams, who swept all six doubles matches.
Polidori dropped only one game in two wins at No. 2 singles. He partnered with
Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf for 8-0 and 8-2 victories at No. 1 doubles.
Devore won both of his matches at No. 3 singles in straight sets. He teamed with
Mills Arnold for a pair of 8-2 wins at No. 2 doubles. They improved to 17-7 as partners this season.
Zachary Ong enjoyed a 3-0 day, which included two wins at No. 3 doubles with
August Krahn.
Hadler-Strumlauf finished 3-1, boosting his season wins total to 38.
