DUBUQUE – Dubuque hit the Rams with a flurry of early goals and Cornell couldn't fully recover in Sunday's 16-6 Midwest Lacrosse Conference loss at Oyen Field.
The regular-season finale for both teams was postponed 20 hours due to storms Saturday night.
Despite the setback to second-place Dubuque (9-6 overall, 3-1 MLC), the Rams (6-8 overall, 1-3 MLC) clinched fourth place in the final league standings and will return to the MLC Tournament for the fourth consecutive year.
Cornell will travel to play No. 1 seed Lake Forest (13-2 overall, 4-0 MLC) for an MLC semifinal Wednesday in Lake Forest, Ill.

Luke Baldwin snapped the spell with an assisted goal from
Charley Kobets with 1:14 left in the opening half. The Rams played Dubuque virtually even in the second half, netting five goals over the final 27 minutes.

Matt Norwood pitched in two goals apiece.
Tyler Foster assisted on two scores and
Gavin Ravalli scored once.
