Meredith Meier's women's lacrosse team rolls into the postseason with a school-record and league-best 13 overall wins, and a chance to avenge an early loss.
The Rams (13-3 overall, 3-2 MLC) earned the No. 3 seed in this week's Midwest Lacrosse Conference Tournament, where they'll battle No. 2 seed Lake Forest (12-3 overall, 4-1 MLC) in a semifinal game at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Farwell Field in Lake Forest, Ill.
Regular-season champion and No. 1 seed Saint Benedict (8-4 overall, 5-0 MLC) hosts Hamline (9-8 overall, 2-3 MLC) in Wednesday's other semifinal.
The championship game is Saturday and hosted by the top remaining seed. The MLC champion earns an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament

The Rams are back in the four-team field for the second consecutive year. They fell 13-3 at Saint Benedict in the program's tournament debut last spring as the No. 4 seed.
Cornell gets a rematch with Lake Forest, which beat the Rams 18-10 on March 30 in Mount Vernon. The Rams are 0-3 all-time against the Foresters.
Cornell capped a record-breaking regular season Saturday with an 18-3 victory at Augsburg. The Rams average 13.6 goals per game and lead all Division III teams with 29.0 ground balls per game.
The Rams' high-octane attack features two of the MLC's top scorers in junior
Cece Zanoni (59 goals, 25 assists) and senior
India Smith (65 goals, 18 assists). They are the only players in school history to top 70 points in a season.
Smith is the MLC leader in ground balls (88) and caused turnovers (49).
Meg Lewis is No. 1 in draw controls (78). Sophomore goalie
Hannah Miech allows 7.70 goals per game, fewest in the MLC.
The Foresters are the top scoring team in the MLC at 17.0 goals per contest. They've won 12 of their last 13 games.
