DECORAH – Newcomers Truman Folkers and Danny DeCristofaro both recorded top-eight finishes in the Silver Division to lead Cornell's men's wrestling team at Saturday's Luther Open.
 
Folkers placed third in the 133-pound bracket. The freshman's 4-1 day was highlighted by a 6-2 win over Coe's Emmitt Newton in the third-place bout. Folkers posted a technical fall and a major decision in the early rounds.
 
DeCristofaro claimed fifth in the 184-pound class with a 4-1 mark. The sophomore won by injury default in the fifth-place match. DeCristofaro reeled off four consecutive consolation wins following a 13-4 opening-round loss to NIACC's Nicky Bernard. DeCristofaro's day included two pins.
 
The Rams had 15 wrestlers compete in the Elite Division, 10 in the Silver Division. Click here for complete results.
