STORM LAKE – Cornell women's wrestling hit the road Saturday to compete in the Buena Vista Open. The Rams headed home with three placewinners and a Consolation B Champion.
 
Senior Olivia Cotton led the Rams finishing second in the 160-pound division with a 4-1 record, which included a tech fall and pin. She lost to Alexandra Hofrichter from University of Dubuque in the finals.
 
Cornell had two placewinners in the 117-pound division. Senior Cheyenne Mulford finished fifth, going 4-1.  Mulford's day included two falls and a tech fall. Angelica Benitez finished eighth, going 2-2.
 
Freshman Sidney Zimmerman won the Consolation B bracket in the 160-pound division, going 4-1. Zimmerman lost in the first round then rolled off four straight pins, including a quick pin in 32 seconds over Anna Johnson Challan from Hawkeye Tech in the consolation final.
 
Coming up – The Rams travel to Dubuque on Thursday to face Loras College. Match starts at 6:30 pm.
