MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's men's wrestling Senior Night dual will go down as one of the quickest, a 47-6 dismantling of UW-Oshkosh Friday inside the Small Athletic and Wellness Center.
The brisk 51-minute meet saw the 21st-ranked Rams score bonus points in eight matches, highlighted by four technical falls and one pin. Cornell totaled 29 takedowns and surrendered only one.

Brent Hamm's Rams improved to 13-5 after their penultimate dual of the season. The 13 wins are tied for the sixth-most ever by a Cornell squad.
Cornell honored its five senior wrestlers prior to the meet, and received a tone-setting win from senior
Dahson DeJong in the opening bout at 174 pounds. DeJong (19-11) dominated Kyle Rasper with a 19-3 technical fall in 3:24 for his 50th career victory.

Landon Card celebrated his Senior Night with five first-period takedowns before pinning Leo Ruggiero in 2:48. It was the 98th career victory for Card, who improved to 25-7 on the year.

Treyten Steffen (28-5) compiled six takedowns in an 18-3 technical fall at 197. Junior
Scotty Scheidecker (10-11) needed only 4:04 to post a 17-1 technical fall at 157. Sophomore 165-pounder
Nolan Schuetz (9-10) followed suit with a 23-4 technical fall, racking up 14 points in the final period.
At 141, Cornell junior
Elliot Cooney (12-14) held on late for a 7-4 decision over Logan Harel.

Austin Wilkins (184) all won by forfeit.
UW-Oshkosh's lone points came at heavyweight with a pin in 6:00 over
Quinn Wilcoxen. The Cornell senior took a 9-4 lead into the third period.

Jackson Gonzales capped the night with a major decision in an exhibition match at 174.
Cornell's senior class has now accounted for 320 individual career wins. The group is headed by eighth-ranked 184-pounder
Cael McLaren (106 career wins), who did not wrestle Friday.
Coming up – Cornell will send a partial squad to the Dubuque Invitational Saturday in Dubuque. The Rams conclude their dual season Wednesday with a 7 p.m. Bremner Cup meet against 10th-ranked Coe in Mount Vernon.
