MARSHALL, MO. – Cornell women's lacrosse went back and forth with Missouri Valley on Wednesday at Marshall, MO., before falling 13-11.
The game was tied 7-7 at the 12:31 mark of the third quarter.
Cece Zanoni then scored two goals and
Ava Ferencz added another to give the Rams (2-3) a 10-7 lead late in the third quarter. Missouri Valley (1-4) then ran off six straight goals, before Zanoni scored the final goal for Cornell.
The Rams were led in scoring by senior Zanoni with seven points (four goals and three assists).
Sabrina Ibanez added three goals and one assist, Ferencz had two goals and one assist, and
Cheyenne Greenenwald put up three points (one goal and two assists) for Cornell.
Senior
Meg Lewis who set the Rams career draw control record on Saturday against Elmhurst, led Cornell with five ground balls. Ferencz added four.
Ferencz had six draw controls for the Rams and Lewis added two.
Tess Cooper,
Natalie Hudgins and Ferencz each had three caused turnovers for Cornell.

Leila Velez recorded seven saves for the game.
Coming up – The Rams play their final non-conference game Saturday in Conway, AR against Hendrix. Game time is 12 p.m. Cornell starts NACC conference play Wednesday, March 26 at Van Metre Field at Ash Park against Marian.
