CONWAY, AR. – Cornell women's lacrosse fell to a tough Hendrix team 9-3 Saturday, in their final tune-up before beginning conference play March 26.
The Rams took an early lead on the Warriors (6-2) when
Cece Zanoni scored an unassisted goal early in the first period.
Hendrix's Celina Owens-Campbell then scored back-to-back goals, before Cornell's
Sabrina Ibanez goal tied the game up at 2-2.
The Rams (2-4) would put one more on the board when Zanoni scored in the middle of the second period to make it 4-3, the Warriors then pulled away scoring the last five points of the match.
Junior goalie
Hannah Miech was in the net for the Rams finishing the game with five saves.
Brynn Miroslavich had three caused turnovers for the Rams and
Natalie Hudgins added two.
Ava Ferencz and Ibanez each had three draw controls for Cornell.
Coming up – Cornell begins NACC conference play against Marian Wednesday, March 26 at Van Metre Field at Ash Park.
