MEQUON, WI. – Cornell men's lacrosse went on the road Saturday to face a tough Concordia Wisconsin team, that were picked to finish third in the NACC. The Falcons proved to be too much for the Rams, as they fell 19-3 at Fitting Field.
Concordia (3-6 overall, 2-2 NACC) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before
Matt Norwood put the Rams on the board with a goal at the 4:29 mark in the first quarter. Freshman
Aron Rodriguez picked up his first assist as a Ram on Norwood's goal.
The Falcons scored 11 unanswered points before senior
Landon Card scored a man-up goal for the Rams (4-5 overall, 1-3 NACC) mid-way through the third period. Sophomore
Tyler Foster picked up the assist on Card's goal.
Norwood picked up his second goal of the game late in the fourth quarter on an assist from Rodriguez to round out the scoring for the Rams.
Thomas Cook had 14 saves for the Rams on 35 shots on goal by Concordia.
Torii Greiskalns led Cornell with three caused turnovers. Rodriguez picked up five ground balls and
Kayden Kuan secured four loose balls for the Rams.
Concordia out shot the Rams 54-26 in their win. The Falcons were led in scoring by Bryce Petersen with six goals and two assists.
Coming up – The Rams return home Wednesday to face conference foe Benedictine. Game time is 4:30 p.m. at Van Metre Field at Ash Park.
