MOUNT VERNON – Cornell men's lacrosse faced a talented Lake Forest team on Saturday. The Rams battled for 60 minutes, but came up short 14-7 at Van Metre Field at Ash Park.
The Rams (5-10, 2-8 NACC) struck first on
Aron Rodriguez's 16th goal of the year,
Matt Norwood assisted on the Rodriguez goal. Lake Forest then rattled off eight unanswered goals, the last at the 11:12 mark of the second period.
Cornell finished the second period with three unanswered goals.

Matt Norwood all found the net for the Rams. Freshman
Kaden Weaver picked up an assist on all three goals.
The Forester's (8-7, 7-3 NACC) outscored Cornell 6-3 in the second half. The highlight for Cornell in the second half was the first career goal by senior
Zach Arnold, on a looping shot that found the net.
Tyler Foster and Warnke also found the net in the second half.
Senior
Thomas Cook battled tough in the net for Cornell, finishing with 16 saves on 61 shots by Lake Forest. Cook also picked up seven ground balls.
Senior
Torii Greiskalns caused four turnovers and picked up six ground balls.
Ben Schwartz and
Tyler Foster each had three ground balls.
