MOUNT VERNON – Cornell men's lacrosse faced a very physical MSOE (Milwaukee School of Engineering) team on Saturday night at Van Metre Field at Ash Park. In a game that saw 14 penalties called, the Rams found themselves on the wrong side of a 9-3 game.
Seven seniors were honored prior to the start of the game for their contributions to the Cornell lacrosse program. Senior goalie
Thomas Cook had 25 saves and six ground balls. Seniors
Alex Wallis and
Zach Arnold each picked up two ground balls and caused a turnover.
Seniors
Ash Hoelscher (three ground balls and 6-11 on face offs),
Matt Norwood (one ground ball),
Landon Card (three ground balls) and
Torii Greiskalns (four caused turnovers and 6 ground balls) all continued to add to their legacy at Cornell.
Sophomore
Tyler Foster scored two goals and picked up three ground balls for the Rams (4-7 overall, 1-5 NACC). Freshman
Kaden Weaver had two assists and two ground balls and
Caden Lynch picked up a goal for Cornell.
MSOE (6-5 overall, 4-2 NACC) out shot the Rams 55-24 and were led by Soren Savard's four goals and one assist.
The Rams were playing without two of their top scorers who were injured in Wednesday's game against Benedictine.
