First Teamer Souhrada heads 5 All-MWC softball selections

| By:
MOUNT VERNON – Cornell placed five players on the 2025 All-Midwest Conference Softball Teams, headlined by first team junior outfielder Peyton Souhrada.

Souhrada earned a spot on the league's first team for the third consecutive season. She's among six Rams in program history to gain first team all-conference status three times in a career.

The Rams landed four second team selections in senior outfielder Addie Bowman, sophomore first baseman Elise Oleson, sophomore catcher Corrin Kennedy (at-large) and first-year outfielder Alexa Corona (at-large).

Souhrada finished third in the MWC in both batting average (.436) and slugging percentage (.703) and was fifth in total hits with 44. The left-handed slugger scored a team-high 25 runs and drove in 25. Souhrada accounted for 10 doubles, four triples and three home runs.

Souhrada's slugging percentage ranks four-best on Cornell's single-season list. The program's career leader for batting average (.414), Souhrada led the team with 12 multi-hit games and reached base safely in her final 13 contests.

Bowman was honored on the All-MWC Second Team for the third year in a row. She recorded her 100th career hit in the final collegiate at-bat of her 132nd game with the Rams. Bowman finished fifth on Cornell's career chart for stolen bases (33), 10th in runs scored (74) and 11th in walks (36).

A four-year starter, Bowman batted .383 with 20 runs, 14 RBIs and seven stolen bases in eight attempts this spring.

Oleson earned second team accolades for the second straight season. She brought power to the lineup with eight home runs, second-most in the MWC and two shy of the single-season school record. Oleson ranked third in the league with 33 RBIs and posted a .586 slugging percentage.

Oleson hit .302 with 18 runs and 19 total extra-base hits. She paced the Rams with nine multi-RBI games.

Kennedy waited until April 5 to make her Cornell debut, although made the most of her 18 games by hitting .404 and slugging .617 with six extra-base hits. The sophomore transfer also made an impact behind the plate, throwing out five runners attempting to steal.

Corona turned in an impressive rookie campaign as the team's primary leadoff hitter and starting left fielder. She batted .355 with 24 runs, 39 hits and 18 RBIs. Corona went 6-for-7 in stolen bases and committed only one error in 42 fielding chances.

The Rams finished 16-20 overall and placed fifth in the MWC (8-8) in coach Jackie Yoder's eighth and final season at the helm.
