MOUNT VERNON – Cornell NCAA qualifiers
Isaac vanWestrienen and
Hailey Carolan have been honored with
All-Midwest Region awards for the 2025 outdoor season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
VanWestrienen earned all-region status in three men's running events, all of which he set school records this spring. He posted top-five region marks in the 1500 (3:49.70), 5000 (14:05.67) and 10000 (29:15.97).
VanWestrienen competes in the 10000-meter run at 7:30 p.m. (Central Time) today at the
NCAA Division III Championships in Geneva, Ohio. The junior is seeded third out of 22 qualifiers.
VanWestrienen is also an all-America contender in the 5000, which goes off at 3 p.m. Saturday. He is seeded seventh in that race.
Carolan, a junior, earned all-region accolades in the women's outdoor high jump for the third consecutive year. The two-time outdoor all-American posted a season-best mark of 5 feet, 6.5 inches.
Carolan is seeded ninth in the NCAA high jump competition, which gets underway at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
