MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's track & field programs have garnered individual and team academic accolades by the
U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2025 indoor and outdoor seasons.

Jerry Monner's Rams landed four USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes with senior
Gabe Soda (history) and juniors
Isaac vanWestrienen (kinesiology),
Hailey Carolan (biochemistry and molecular biology) and
Ava Claussen-Tubbs (marketing, applied statistics).
To qualify for the individual award, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and met one of the following athletic standards: 1.) Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship; 2.) Finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or be ranked in the national top 35 in a relay event.
Van Westrienen, a three-time all-American in 2025, finished a terrific indoor season ranked No. 3 nationally in the 5000, No. 4 in the mile and No. 6 in the 3000. For outdoors, he ranked No. 3 in the 10000, No. 8 in the 5000 and No. 40 in the 1500.
Soda stood No. 47 in the indoor mile. He and vanWestrienen earned all-academic status in track & field for the second consecutive year.
Carolan was named an all-academic athlete for the third year in a row. She finished the indoor regular season No. 11 nationally in the high jump and No. 35 in the pentathlon. Carolan captured all-America outdoor honors in the high jump with a sixth-place showing at the NCAA Championships.
Claussen-Tubbs finished among the nation's top 50 in the 800 for both indoor (No. 38) and outdoor (No. 43) seasons.
Cornell's men and women were both recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. The women earned the distinction for the 11th time in 12 years, compiling a 3.55 GPA. The men's team carried a 3.12 GPA.
To be eligible, a team must have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.10.
