MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's cross country and track & field programs fielded 10 student-athletes on the
2024-25 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Men's and Women's Teams, selected by the College Sports Communicators.
The Rams landed five men's selections, led by senior
Caleb Schopen (kinesiology/German Studies) who was recognized for the third year in a row. Juniors
Austin Wilkins (kinesiology) and
Isaac vanWestrienen (kinesiology) earned the distinction for the second consecutive year. Sophomores
Hadley Beaty (engineering) and
Jensen Meeker (undecided) also gained academic all-district honors.
On the women's side, juniors
Alyza Koppes (kinesiology/German Studies),
Ava Claussen-Tubbs (marketing/applied statistics) and
Hailey Carolan (biochemistry and molecular biology) earned CSC accolades for the second consecutive year. Sophomores
Sophie Stumbo (biochemistry and molecular biology) and
Willow Ziegler (environmental science and sustainability) were also recognized.
The Academic All-America Teams will be announced July 15-16.
To be eligible for all-academic recognition, the nominee must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing, hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50, and rank in the top 50 regionally in a single event (cross country, indoor or outdoor track & field).
