Kennedy named NFCA First Team All-Region; Drever Second Team

| By:
MOUNT VERNON – Cornell junior softball standouts Corrin Kennedy and Linnea Drever have been recognized on the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region Teams in Region IX.

Kennedy claimed first team all-region accolades, becoming the first Ram to achieve that status since Carly Goolsby in 2011. Kennedy was the only catcher selected to the 13-player top unit.

Drever earned a spot on the second team at designated player/utility.

Kennedy and Drever now advance for consideration for the three NFCA Division III All-America squads, which will be announced May 27 on NFCA.org.

This is the first time Cornell has landed multiple all-region performers since 2017, when the Rams had three.

Kennedy enjoyed an exceptional second year with the Rams, tying single-season school records with 37 RBIs and 98 total bases. The first team all-Midwest Conference pick batted .468 with 58 hits, ranking second on Cornell's all-time season list for both.

Kennedy posted an impressive .790 slugging percentage with 34 runs, 15 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 15 stolen bases in 17 attempts. She tallied 20 multi-hit games in 40 total contests. Kennedy struck out only four times in 124 at-bats.

Kennedy also made an impact behind the plate, throwing out nine runners. She recorded 167 putouts.

Drever, a first team all-MWC honoree, provided protection behind Kennedy at the cleanup spot in Cornell's batting order. She ranked in the top five on Cornell's season list in slugging percentage (.705), doubles (15), home runs (6) and total bases (86).

A modest .250 hitter a season ago, Drever broke through this spring with 15 multi-hit games and a .418 batting average. The three-year starter finished second on the team with 51 hits, scored 31 runs and drove in 28. Drever had a stretch in which she reached base safely in 20 consecutive games.

The Rams closed a successful campaign at 24-18 in coach Robin Brand's first season at the helm. Cornell earned the No. 4 seed in the MWC Tournament.
